A removable partial denture or bridge usually consists of replacement teeth attached to a pink or gum-colored plastic base, which is sometimes connected by metal framework that holds the denture in place in the mouth. Partial dentures are used when one or more natural teeth remain in the upper or lower jaw.
Acrylic dentures are the lowest costing dentures and because of the ease of repair, reline or modification are generally advised where teeth may need to be extracted if doubtful or tooth loss is significant. Most acrylic dentures will have stainless steel retentions, clear clasps or tooth coloured clasps.
These are made from thermoplastic nylon. They are flexible, two colours(Pink, Clear), and no metal retainers required as the flexibility of the base is used to retain the denture. These can be repaired, relined, but that process will require longer time frames.
Cast Chrome dentures are thinner, and smaller, and the most comfortable partial dentures. These offer great strenth and stability as well as support for remainig teeth. These can be fixed, added. However, these sometimes require longer time frames and welding to ensure the best result.
